Reminder: transportation arrangements for field trip to Police station

Hello all,

Just a friendly reminder that all watch coxswains need to have transportation arrangements for Thursday night finalised by tonight!
You need to have called each member of your watch to find out if they are attending, and if they need a ride or can offer a ride.  You need to ensure that everyone is accounted for, and everyone has a ride (including yourselves!).

Coxes, please email me at this address with a status update by 9pm tonight (note the big bold red text)

Cheers,
Randall

Hi all,

The new program for Term 3 has been posted, so please have a quick look when you can:
http://ngatitoaseascouts.blogspot.com/p/term-1-2010-program.html

There are some very interesting activities planned, including a night row (weather permitting), an axe and knife night, and a weekend sailing day!
And we've managed to squeeze in a ski trip as well.

See you Thursday night!

Scouts: Bon voyage

Well Guys

What a wonderful way to end 5 ½ years with NTSS as a Leader (4 ½ as troop Leader). Huge thanks for the goodies – my liver and waist line will suffer, which is why I intend to share most with you over the next few months.

Look guys – its been a ball. Watching kids grow into young adults with super brains and leadership skills attached to great personalities, senses of humour  and friends (some more attached than others). Watching kids that are scared of a glass of water learn to conquer water and become proficient boaties and owners of great skills. Is neat to think that the Leaders and I have helped shape these great kids.

Parents – what a great bunch. The time you put into your kids results in great rewards; the time you put into other peoples kids brings even greater rewards with lifetime friendships developing.

As Phil says, I won’t be lost. Coaching sailing is my great love, so might do a little of that for Scouts, will do a huge amount of that for Paremata; I will be at the regattas because the boys and my extended yachty kids will all be venturers; I will be assisting to get all to the Jamboree and I might become a bossy Committee member. And then there is skiing!!

It is not goodbye, simply see you same place, same time but not as the boss.

So from this dolphin leaving Planet NTSS, “So long, and thanks for all the fish”.

Sea Scout prizegiving - huge success

Guys

Thanks to Phil, Nicky and Michael for joining me at the prize-giving at St James Sea Scout Den tonight. Lucky they did because there was no way I could have walked the total distance to pick up the 28 trophies (out of 32) and to carry them all to the car.

Huge congratulations to all of you. Fantastic effort, fantastic teams, fantastic skills, fantastic kids (and the oldies in the Open as well).

We have been challenged to win all 32 next year. That will be difficult because we will have to convert at least one of our cutters back to an old rig. But perhaps …

Cheers

Roger
