Well Guys
You kids (and parents) continue to blow me away, taking success, fun, commitment and just plain human kindness and enjoyment to a new level each weekend.
Today’s Lowry Bay Regatta was the best I have been to – everyone having a row, everyone having a sail, most having a kayak, and that includes the Leaders and parents.
The results are below. What caught my eye today was:
· Not how easily we won the rowing races but how we did it with style – being in the right place, rowing in time, smiling a lot.
· The top five places in the Intermediate Sunburst showing how small differences in sail settings and how one sits in the boat makes huge differences in speed in these pretty near identical boats.
· Emergence of Daniel M and Callum in the Intermediate ranks
· Emergence of Nicky/Daniel A, Liam/Dain and Rowan/Will in the “watch the future” stakes.
Huge thanks to all the parent towies and chauffeurs, to Phil and Dianne in the patrol boat all day, to Randall for running the kayak racing, to Richard for volunteering to helm the parents in the open cutter race, and to all the parents that worked hard getting boats and kids into and out of the water.
Next regatta – two weeks time at Worser bay. Just Sunburst racing. Usually a select few. However, after todays sailing, I think that it will be more like the great hoards.
Cheers
Roger
